Public Profile, Leaderboard & Social Proof

If you sign in, we may display your public profile on community features such as the leaderboard and on promotional sections of the site (for example, the homepage social proof area). This can include your username, your profile image provided by your OAuth provider, and your number of accepted Wi‑Fi tests. We never display your email address.

• Source: Profile image URLs are received from your OAuth provider via Supabase Auth and are loaded directly from the provider's CDN. We don't re‑host these images by default.
• Network disclosure: When your avatar image is loaded from the provider's CDN, your browser connects to that CDN and shares your IP address and standard HTTP headers with that provider.
• Legal basis: Legitimate interests to operate community features, recognize contributors, and grow the service.
• Choices: You can change your username at any time. To stop showing your profile image, update it at the OAuth provider or contact us to request removal/anonymization.
• Retention: Display continues while your account exists or until you request removal. Aggregated statistics may remain after account deletion.
• Caching: Public pages may be cached briefly (e.g., for up to one hour) which can delay updates appearing immediately.

2. Data We Collect

2.1 Account Information

When you sign up, we collect:

• Google OAuth: Name, email address, profile picture (from Google)
• Email Sign-up: Email address and password (encrypted)
• Username: A unique username you choose

2.2 Review Data

When you submit a WiFi speed test, we collect:

• Download and upload speeds (Mbps)
• WiFi rating (1-5 stars)
• Hotel/accommodation name and location
• Screenshot of your speed test (optional)
• Test date and internet provider
• Any additional notes you provide

3. How We Use Your Data

We use your data to:

• Create and maintain your account
• Display your reviews on hotel pages (after moderation)
• Send you email notifications about review status
• Prevent spam and maintain content quality
• Improve our service and user experience

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We may share data with:

• Supabase: Our database and storage provider (EU-based)
• Vercel: Our hosting provider
• Resend: For automated email notifications
• Zoho: For manual email communications
• OAuth Provider CDNs (e.g., Google): To serve your profile image if you choose to keep it; these providers receive your IP and standard HTTP headers when images load.

5. Data Retention

• Account data: Kept until you delete your account
• Accepted reviews: Kept indefinitely (part of public directory)
• Declined reviews: Kept for 30 days, then deleted
• Email communications: Kept for business purposes

6. Your Rights (GDPR)

Under GDPR, you have the right to:

• Access: Request a copy of your personal data
• Rectification: Correct inaccurate data
• Erasure: Delete your account and associated data
• Portability: Receive your data in a machine-readable format
